Wow wow wow. Look at this - it was taken at in Palm Springs teacher training last week by a guy named Al Mansfield, who has awesomely posted a huge album on these on Facebook. (This is not a high res image, sadly, but you can see a slightly bigger version if you click on it.)
Hope he doesn't mind that I am borrowing it. I think it's awesome. It kinda gives me chills. And the little person up there on the podium is one of my teachers from home, which I think is so freaking cool.

Wow. Powerful photo. Everyone is perfectly in line and on the line, which I haven't seen very much since people sort of just go wherever unless certain instructors instruct otherwise. I feel like I'm looking into a mirror - makes me want to know what it's like in a huge room practicing with 100s of others. This is awesome!!! Thanks for posting, J!
I know, they have to keep 'em on the lines for those big classes! And there is actually a mirror on the side wall, so it looks like the lines just go on into infinity... so cool...
There was one time when I practiced in a packed room in LA with 300+ people, with Bikram on the podium, and it was definitely one of the best classes of my life. Unbelievable energy. Powerful is the right word.
Wait... Like "teacher from home" as in from Bikram Yoga Boston?!?! Do tell!!
That is so cool!
-> Hannah: It's Diane from West Rox. She is one of the senior staff members at training. :)
Hi J! Love you blog!! And happy to have you post my information on yours -- thanks!!! It's amazing that you just picked up the yoga book mentioned on the last entry - Diane talked to everyone at training about how wonderful the book is - and she even read a piece of it to us all!!! Sending love always.
Oh - and if I can figure it out, and you're ok with it, I'll post your info on mine!!
Sooo nice to hear from you Lucille! Yes, feel free to link to me! I wish I could pretend to have a cool psychic bond with Diane but it's a little more mundane than that; we were hanging out at the end of April when she did a clinic in San Diego and she told me about the book. :) I bet I know which part she read you guys, too: these instructions work as they were intended and as they were written down... if we change them, then we are already whispering something different in the next child's ear... and then someone who's been bitten by a snake with try to practice the instructions as they have received them and they will NO LONGER WORK...
Love it!! :)
