Massive excitement today: just got approved with my two roommates to rent this AWESOME 3 bed/2 bath house that we REALLY wanted. It's in a perfect location, ridiculously cheap for what it is, and so big and beautiful! I am in love! Signing the lease Friday.
Of course, I think the MOST exciting part for me is THIS:
THAT'S RIGHT. I'm a big girl now. I will have my OWN washer and dryer, inside my own house, that I don't have to pay to use! This is the best living-situation development ever. And you guys who commented on facebook cracked me up because you all had the exact same response as I did: "This will make it so easy to wash all the yoga towels!!!!"
I will also have a fireplace (don't know how to use it), a dining room that is not in the middle of the kitchen, a place to park my car (that is not a 5 minute walk from where I actually live), and a small backyard with a lemon tree and an orange tree. Yippee!

Get a decent citrus juicer. There's something special about having juice directly from your backyard. Congratulations!
Ooooh exciting! The first thing I thought of when I saw those pics were : Awesome for doing yoga laundry *nod nod
Wow. You've seriously made it, J. I'm so...jealous, proud, excited for you. I'm so dreading going to the laundry mat this weekend... :(
Congrats, my friend. Freaking awesome new pad!!
I must confess, I've been spoiled. Las Vegas apartments all have washer and dryer in each unit. I do remember being in college though and having to lug laundry down and put coins in. Ugh! I'm so happy for you that you don't have to do that anymore! Here's something funny: this girl Jill showed my roommate and I how to attach thread to the quarters with clear tape and there was a trick to holding the strings taught, and you got your quarters back and the machine started! We felt like we hit the jackpot when she showed us that! LOL!
This place sounds pretty pimped out!!! Don't ever move!!!
And think how much you will save on produce if you don't have to buy lemons and oranges. NICE!
JUICER - that is a GREAT idea. I've been thinking about getting one for years. This might finally be the time!
Um, Michelle? That is HYSTERICAL. I so would NOT have been above doing that at my old place in Boston. Great tip. People are gonna be writing to you for instructions now... :-D
Missus - I know, I don't wanna ever abandon this place!! This may cramp my plans to move back to Boston to teach yoga... haha...
Congrats!!! I'm so jealous!!! I too am dying for my own washer/dryer. And I think my poor husband is also eager for a dishwasher since he's it in our household!! Enjoy the new home!
